    Class of 2013/14

As you may guess, hybridizing crotons is great fun for me. This past winter will be the first time I haven't germinated at least a thousand seedlings. So this may be the last class for awhile. I have culled the class down to about 50 individuals. This would be my top ten at 1 year old.

    The Daisy Christine Memorial Garden

A few weeks ago our daughter & family came to Houston for a three week visit. Brenda & I are pretty fortunate that our kids can work remotely. Anyway, this allowed me to drive down to Summerland to check on things, load up some clothes & most importantly load up the expresso machine. And Brenda...

    Key's Magic

Before I start, allow me to thank you all for the kind comments on my recent posts, it's really appreciated. I've been asked on several occasions, on how I achieve some of the colors that I do etc. I've been hesitant to respond, because I don't feel qualified to do so. There are some very...

The Little Daisy Fund & a Belated Thank You!

I've been behind the eight ball the last few months. A 15 year old computer and XP software isn't helping. Love my iPad and want to go to a Mac but this posting trouble has me concerned. Anyway, for those who are unaware, I've dedicated my croton hobby to the memory of my grand daughter, Daisy...

    Under the Robellini

David, I hope you don't mind me borrowing from your "Under the Old Oak Tree" thread. Jim Glock & Jeff Searle have given me so much **** over the years on my numerous Robellini's...but you sure can't beat them for perfect light. The Monarch leaves don't turn dark and it's growing like a weed.

Didn't buy anything but when Judy,Tim and myself went exploring, I came across this awesome looking thing. On my wish...

    Father's Day / Columbiana Gold

This may have been posted earlier, if so I missed it. Anyway, Bob Alonso was pretty sure that what we are calling Father's Day is in fact Columbiana Gold. I think he said it is a sport of Columbiana. I have noticed that my F.D. is putting out a branch that looks like Columbiana. Jeff, Tim, Jim &...

    Leopardia Sport

I never thought this sport would mount to much. It really took off this summer. 1st photo shows the entire plant. After the shot, I pruned everyhting away but the sport. My Leopardia was inferior to Confetti and they look very similiar. Seems to be stable and has mutiple heads now. An...
