Tim, I'm planning to install a bunch of palms from seed I grew from Jim and Judy several years back. The install is on Big Pine Key at my in-laws place. (There is a new house going up next to them and they want privacy.) Jim said you might be interested in this type of work. My phone is (813) 244-2511, email tobiasrose@yahoo. Let me know if you are interested, thanks.
Ficus Ruby is faster, bigger, more colorful and hardier than plain F.e.variegata. Mine grew from a 4" to a 12x12' monster in a pot! For you could be a big topiary at least.
I saw your question on Ficus Ruby. I have one and its a fast grower, hardy and mine grew from a small 4 leafed 4" potted plant to 12 x12' plant in 4 years..IN A POT! I'm afraid to plant it. Its much more everything-color,growth rate, than plain Ficus elastica variegata. I think Dave on the palm board posted photos of one a year ago in Santa Ana That was a true tree already. olor..more red all the time then F.e.v.
Karl, we are going to Vero Beach tomorrow to visit Peter's nursery on Monday. May be we can have a glance at your fabulous garden somewhere along the way??
Hello Friend! Thank you very much for the newsletters. Is there a question - can I share them with my friends? They also like to grow croton. We have a community where we communicate and share successes. It is a pity that we do not have the opportunity to grow croton in orchards.
So you have a Posoqueria latifolia with tasty fruit? Interesting, because I find they get negative reviews more often than positive. Can you describe the fruit/taste more and where you acquired your plant? Has anyone else tried your fruits, and was their take on the fruit the same as yours? Thanks!
Would love to come down and visit. I would be happy to bring as many cordylines as you want. I have close to 100 different varieties of all size and color. If we don't get flooding this weekend, I should be ready to start to replace some of the plants that did not make it with crotons. Will you be around next weekend? I can go out and cut a bunch of cordylines before I come down.
Hi Bren, You mentioned you were starting fresh & I have bunch you can have. Come & get them in the next few weeks or I'm doling them out to the neighbors. All potted up.
I have about 40 air layers on some really rare crotons. Please let me know if you're looking for anything special. I'll have to put a list together when I have the time! Thanks, Randy
I have Spring Break this coming week and was hoping to make my way down to Miami to visit the zoo and Fairchild. It has been years since I have stopped by to get plants from you (other than at the auctions and Fairchild). Will you be around at all as I would love to stop by and do some shopping? I need to see if I have your email and I can send you my wishlist of crotons. Thanks, Karl
Just saw your message. I am driving down to Jeff's with my mom early tomorrow morning so I will be there around 7:30. I had hoped to take the day off from work today, but couldn't because we have a school talent show. I am hoping that there will still be a good selection. I will try to remember to give you a call tonight.
Hello. I noticed on Palmtalk that they listed you as living in Palmetto, FL. I don't know if you are the same Zeeth but I just moved to Ellenton from N. Tampa and would like to speak to someone about what palms will grow nicely down here. Thanks for your time.
Dean, if the Central FL Palm & Cycad Society were interested in setting up a sub forum (public, of course, but still CFPACS focused), how would we do that?
Hi Pix Nell and I are in Tampa 5:45 Friday, this is a test, is this a private message? If respond and I will send you my phone number so we can make a plan to get the Pixie to you. Lamar
