The large one is alive and well, a smaller one in a 5 gal pot is doing well, and one now in full sun is a bit toasty but alive. Some leaf loss during that &^%$#@! cold wx, but I'd consider it pretty cold tolerant for a croton.
Phil & Ray - how have your Norwood Beauties faired this season? I would like to establish this variety here as a back-up for you north west coast guys (and gals).
Wow - thanks for the updated photos Phil. It is a "real looker"! This will be a must have for Mooseland.
Bren - according to Dr. Frank Brown's first book which was printed in 1960:
"Norwood Beauty: A brillant oak-leaf type shaded red and yellow. A Craig seedling developed in 1811 and named for Norwood, Pa., the town where the Robert Craig Nursery is located."
It's a slow but steady grower; suffered partial defoliation again this winter but is
rebounding fairly well. Nothing like the color in the earlier pics - not yet anyhow...
leaves are about 6'' including petiole; gets morning and some afternoon sun.
