Dean, Never have cut for arrangement, but like the look with Ti plants. Planted 40 more bulbs this last weekend.

We have trouble with getting them to come back after the first season. Many just seem to rot away. Do you have that problem?

Dean, No problem here with them coming back. I usually dig and divide the clumps when they become to large. I planted them 10 yrs ago, this year is the first time I have added new ones, as these colors I did not have. In fact I have dug them out of the Croton area for 2 yrs now and they keep coming back.

This is in Angela's department. I have noticed that the ones that she piles rocks over do much better at coming back. I am suspecting now that the chickens and pheasants may be helping themselves to the bulbs left unprotected - I am just assuming they rotted away.

WOW!!! I've been away too long. AWESOME pictures of your awesome garden!
As far as caladiums go, I had only one not come back and I think it was because it was eaten by pheasants. We had a whole bunch of black magic taro that either got eaten or rotted away... but last time we got some I threw it in the pond... no birds dare to get close to it now! I love that caladium in #87. I have one of those but it had a major set back because the birds ate half of it. Now it's behind some wire recovering. What is the first caladium in #85? That's really cool!

I just bought 225 caladium at Lowe's... they were on sale. A bag of 10 for $1.50 and 24 for $4.00... I've got a lot of work to do!!

Angela, I have no idea on that one. It showed up in the garden last year after I divided some clumps. I will post a really new cool looking one when it grows a little larger.

No problems here, it was media hype for the Tampa area. Recorded less than 2" of rain and a few wind gusts around 30 mph. The normal afternoon summer storms give more punch.
