Jeff,
I'm assuming you got this from Perry Edge. He renamed it Helen Edge in honor of his mother. I'll attach pictures later. I love it in the summer when it's bright red.

Yes Marie! I completely forgot the new name and will change it. I also love the colorings and markings of this leaf.

So is this a Petra sport or seedling?

I don't think so. Perry said he found it growing in an old St. Petersburg neighborhood and orignially put the name Beyond Petra on it because he felt it was so much better. He later named it Helen Edge after his mother.

I got a 6 inch cutting off of a beautiful plant in Virginia Gardens. In the last year I guess they cut it down, it's gone now. The plant is fast growing. I thought it was big red but maybe it's this one. What do you think.

I remember seeing this plant next to a Pop's Yard and they were identical, but, they are crotons after all.
