As I understand the rules, a seedling is fair game and can be named whatever you like. Therefore, I dub this 18-month-old Croton "Roy Harper" in honor of one of the greatest unknown song-weaver/guitarists to have ever strummed a string.

Roy's Website

The seedling appeared in the Spring of 2009, although in the deep underbrush and where it was hidden behind a Spindle Palm, it may have sprouted in the Fall of 2008. It's just over 15" tall and the leaves are hitting 8" not including the petiole. Interesting yellow and green patterns, deep lobes. I can't find anything in the book to match it.

Congratulations Ricky! I think it will be one more white croton.
Maybe it’s time to make a separate category “new crotons from seeds” on Wiki?
