Found some cool old croton drawings on http://www.plantillustrations.org/
Many of these drawings are from L’Illustration horticole, with some from other old publications...
Many were contributed by the Missouri Botanical Garden...
Just trying to give credit where possible - more details are available at the plantillustrations.org website
The names (shown when enlarged) are the original names given at the time the illustrations were made, along with the year of publication.

These images are frame-able Peyton, thanks!! Could you please tell me how you find these?

I love the names. Some varieties we know well have clearly been renamed through the years.

Ray, I just googled codiaeum illustration then clicked on images and looked for old prints...
Here's a couple more I missed the first time:
The first one I can't make out the name, but it looks like "something de Rothschild"
The second one is labeled Magnificum but no date on either of these...

One on left is titled Croton Baron de Rothschild (au 1/3 de grandeur naturelle); above this in about 6pt italic font is: L. Dascamp - Sabouret, del and Chromolith. J.I. Goffart, Bruxelles; along with the print is a one page description in French. Print size is approx 6.5" x 10" Included was a copy of the title page from: L'Illustration Horticole of 1882

The one on the right is titled: CODIEAUM (CROTON) MAGNIFICUM LIND. Below this title is the printer and publisher info: Chrom. P. De Pannemaeker J. Linden, publ. prifnt size is approx. 10" x 14" The print came with the original 1 page description all in French and a copy of the title page from Revue Horticole, journal d'Horticulture Pratique dated 1898.

Thank you so much for posting the link to the illustrations. We grow Medinillas and it is very difficult to find pictures on anything but the common varieties. Many great illustrations here. Thanks!

Scott - that would be me. This find of Peyton's was worthy of sharing on Palm Talk. That forum is well visited and a link to this forum was provided for those who may care to learn more about crotons here.

The assumption that Peyton would not mind was made as I feel that his mindset is like mine. Promote the cultivation and interest in these wonderful plants.
