New Croton photos

I toured a local rental home today and noticed that they had some nice Crotons growing around the driveway.

These two are growing in a planting bed near the front of my house.

We use Crotons all over the property to prevent erosion. We had many problems in this area last October when we received over 50 inches of rain in 5 days. This entire hillside collapsed and had to be rebuilt with retaining walls. The gardeners take cuttings and just stick them in the side of the hill.

A friend of mine lives down the beach from me at this older hotel. The view from her apartment looks out to the beach and ocean, but the sideview looks down on a carpet of yellow Crotons. This hotel has used thousands of them planted throughout the property. As usual they are mostly the same cultivar since they just keep taking cuttings every year from their existing plants.

Hey Bren! I'm doing good, but I've been busy lately. In the morning I am going to Lake Arenal for the weekend for a palm meeting. I will be sure to take lots of Croton pics too! Even though I can't name any of them...

Angela, the pink one is one of my favorites too.

On the way to Lake Arenal this weekend, I stopped at a restaurant for lunch and found this Croton growing out front. It had a mixture of long leaves and round leaves. I have never seen anything like this one before.

The place where we had the palm meeting did not have a lot of Crotons but they did have this nice one that had a few forked leaves.

I took these photos last week when I was in San Jose. I'm sure it's a common one, but I love Crotons with a lot of red in them.
