Fred Sanders

..and here's another; partial shade and competing with some Wamin bamboo for food and water - and slightly toasted by this winter.
Not to be confused with Jean Frances Fascell which has red petioles.

This variety needs plenty of sun to maintain its color. Most of what you see in the two photos from my garden is now almost solid green because of the shade.

I had a fantastic version of this plant that put out yellow splotching on every leaf in shade or sun. It was the centerpiece of the Croton Society's State Fair display some years ago. It too was a January 2010 casualty.
