I have a batch of seedlings about 2 1/2 yrs old I thought I'd call bakers dozen. There are 15 plants here and I've given a couple away. The parents are a cross I made (jungle queen by chili pan) x eleanor fischler. They have a remarkable resemblance to one another and are coloring up nicely, although may water is leaving a deposit on the leaves and only the new leaves are shiny and bright. I watered down the leaves before taking pictures to bring out some brightness. It's amazing how fast some are and others slow. Anyway here's a pic...Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting...love this hybridizing stuff. Regarding growth rates, it is fascinating to plant a cluster of seeds from the same parents into the same flat and watch some of the seedlings just take off and others just sit there for months before a true leaf forms.

Hey Jerry...I've got many more seedlings and no place to put them. I hate to have to cull them but that's what I have to do. I keep those that show early promise. And the ones that are so slow, unless they're the only ones with color, have to go. I have a few that showed great potential that are just 1 1/2 feet tall and 6 or 7 yrs old. Gotta get rid of them! Chris
