Salmon

This cute but very slow croton has really nice coloring. Very sensitive to fertilizer, it's almost died on me twice, and I hardly fertilize. I know there was a Mr. Salmon that was a croton enthusiast years ago. Is this croton named after him, or is it the pinky-orange color it sometimes has? Does anyone know? Chris Mayhew do you have any history of this croton? It would be nice to have some info for the wiki.

Ooops! Forgot the photo.

Hi Anna. I got this croton in the seed bed at the Ralph Davis estate and named it for its color. Marie told me I should have named it Nova. And yes it's very slow growing. That is probably why it was still in the seed bed. There were quite a few more seedlings there but this was the only one I liked. Only have one small piece left myself and find that it occasionally declines and I somehow have brought it back several times. Hope everybody with a piece is still growing it. Chris
