All,
Are the seeds inside retail dates viable? Do they propagate true? I hate to throw them out after making my date nut bread (nature's perfect food when slathered with cream cheese, BTW).

I never tried it, but I don't see why they wouldn't sprout. However, not many fruits are true from seed. And I do believe all the cultivated date palms are from off shoots.

We used to go to the dte festival for the camel races and rides and had a lot of fun, although my parents may not have had as much fun as us kids.
Indio is truly hell on earth in the summer and fall and I am not certain at all I would enjoy it nowadays.
