What's the delay? I've posted photo's of it..seems large enough to flower. To read online they can flower at 15 years is what got me to notice..mine is a tightwad with the seeds.
I can't give Jade plant cuttings away, but my Howea isn't giving me future palms.

Stan - I have grown many dozens of Howeas to maturity. But I don't think I have seen one flower until it had clear trunk at least head high. And even then, that was the exception - usually not flowering until much taller than that.

And then, don't hold your breath - seed are very slow to develop (over a year) and very slow to germinate (again, over a year).

Shoot. Well,I think that's the first post on the internet of how old a Howea has to be in California to go to seed. Thanks.

Here's my oldest Howea. It's 25 years old and fruiting like crazy. The first batch should be ripe next spring I'm estimating.

Is that the first time? The last couple of years have been very good Howea growing seasons. Still, mine are just growth.
