there has been a bit of confusion on the proper spelling/pronunciation of this one. eleanor was john bender's first wife. after they separated, she moved to ft. meyers and was a friend of bob alonzo until she passed away in 1997. eleanor fischer,the plant, was a seedling that popped up on the east side of john's shade house. he named it in her memory.

I thought for sure I had corrected the name a while back, and when I saw this thread I checked and found the 'l' still there. I must have forgotten to save the changes. I think it's changed now.
