Green Martian Hand. (They're coming to take me away, he he, ho ho)

This looks like a surrealist painting.

Central Floridave! Those pictures - wow!

Questions: in post #13, first photo - where is that place? What a sight, the spanish moss hanging from trees with a coconut so at home in the setting and the awesome red and yellow croton in the foreground - what is the croton, btw?

And post #15, the first photo - is the croton in the background batik? I can't make it out too well on this monitor. And what is the palm in the foreground on the right - looks a like a touch of lavendar, might it be purpurea or something else?

Post 14 #3 is unidentified. I think it is cool also.

Thanks Sihara!

#13 first photo is a view from my garage. The coconut palm is actually in my neighbors yard. I live under a oak hammock in East Central Florida. Sorry, I don't know the names of those croton.

#15, not sure on croton name, but it may be batik. It is about 6 feet tall. Its a common one so it probably isn't batik. Sorry, I haven't really kept track of croton names. The palm that has a purple crownshaft is a spindle palm. That is pie crust (hey I remembered a name) next to it.

Dave,

Those are some nice photos of some nice varieties. The ones in post #69 (with the black backgrounds) would be really nice on some T-Shirts. I can remove the backgrounds fairly easily (when they are nice and black like that), and if the photo had a complete "rossete" with the entire leaves within, I could offer them on shirts. You could upload the full size photos to the wiki and I could "grab" them. Then we could offer a few shirts of the nicest ones easily. What do you think?

Here is a quick example. As you can see, we would need the complete shot, without the leaves cut off.

I'll see if I can take some better shots tonight. Those were taken at night with flash.

I'm expecting near freezing temps tonight and tomorrow night. Hopefully the croton make it!
