It certainly looks like a buddy but why are the leaves so dark ? How much sun does it get where it is located ?

Hmmm...I'm not convinced it's Buddy. It looks more like Nestor or Earlscourt.

This plant is in POS Trinidad, it may appear that the plant is exposed to morning sun only as the sun approaches midday position the plant becomes shaded by a towering building and surrounding trees... the plant seems old and is quite large about 8 ft tall.

Looks more like Nestor to me due to the dots or freckles or whatever you want to call them. I've never seen any on Buddy. Here's a few pics of Buddy and Nestor in the yard; first three are Buddy with leaves about 10"+ long; last one is Nestor, one with no spots but branch next to it is full of spots and dots; it's a rather variable croton.

I agree, it's definitely not a Buddy. It looks more like a Earls Court, maybe Nestor.
