Thanks, Ron. I am going to start using the oak leaves that we've saved. There's a lot more to rake! I haven't been using store-bought mulch too much lately - trying to use pine straw for mulch where possible.

This is good news! I just finished cleaning up a bunch of potted plants that were sitting in the water for a few days. I lost a 5-6 year old little magnolia that is planted in the "lowlands." That rain was freakish, and you guys got hit hard. Glad to see you are recovering nicely.

Leslie (bahadawn) - you need to schedule your sick days the first Friday every October. You will never see such a selection of available cultivars like this. The croton dash is also an adventure. There are sometimes some gems that never make it to the list ... I'm hoping to next year...

Just got around to planting this one yesterday and lo and behold a thread about The Rheedii's. I acquired it at the last auction. It is tagged as Rheedii, but no number. It's definitely a favorite of mine.
