Stop the insanity! Admitted croton addict!

Rick - the whole setting of your garden has always been one of my favorites. Beautiful plants and immaculately maintained. It's amazing how many of them are in pots!

COSTA RICAN CROTON WANDERINGS-THE MANY FACES OF BRAVO

Beautiful plants, Roberto. We'll be back to Costa Rica in 2015 and hope to see what you've shown us here. As to the Bravo / Tortoise Shell connection, yes Tortoise Shell is a sport from Bravo. Here is a Tortoise Shell that partially reverted back to Bravo when a storm snapped it last year. You...

    Wiki photos

All of these are from the same plant, one that David McLean originally called "Zadroga" after the client whose backyard contained the plant. There are several leaves that have orange, most have pink. This variety changes both color and pattern depending on sun and shade.

    Don't feed the trolls.

    Anyone else have these seedlings?

Yeah, nothing exciting yet. But these are the first two to get out of deep, deep shade and the bottom one does pink splotches. I'm waiting to see if they color up.

    Codiaeum variegatum "Erica's Party"

It's been more than two years since the original photo and Erica's Party was pulled from the ground, sat for a week in the mistbed, and then went in the ground on the opposite side of the garden. The "trunk" is still just a bit thicker than a pencil, but the leaves are getting much bigger.

    Anyone else have these seedlings?

Does anyone else have either of these seedlings and have they been named? They seem to be fairly common. I have at least 3 or 4 of each one spread throughout the garden. The bottom one gets more pink. These two are in 3-gallon cans, yanked from a shady spot and now getting a lot of midday sun.

Croton Donations for the Palm Beach Zoo

For those of you who would like to drop off plants early, no problem. Just send me a PM here and I'll make sure to be available to receive them. Between Randy and myself, we already have over a dozen large Crotons ready to go.

Croton Donations for the Palm Beach Zoo

Lamar - I don't know what they have now, but they have 28 acres, so there's no worry about having more than one of the same variety. Judy - No promises, but I might ride over with Randy if he's going. Ray and everyone else - You can drop off Crotons for the zoo at my house whenever you're...

Croton Donations for the Palm Beach Zoo

Many of you who also frequent GardenWeb might remember Zoo-Katie, who worked at the Palm Beach Zoo up until this past Spring. She had started to build a Croton collection in the zoo, but had a tough time getting plants donated. My stepson, Scott, has taken over her job and would like to get the...

    Looking for a I D please

Another simple-minded comment from one of the Croton "experts" that troll this forum. Once again proving that the Internet is a playground for the stupid, the ill-informed, and the lifeless lumps of human flesh that have nothing better to do with their time. Dean - you can delete my username...

Found this on a Croton hunt in East Boca.

This is apparently part of an ancient Ficus hedge. There are six distinct main trunks. Oh, and there are Crotons in the background.

    Croton scale - what's working

I did not have the results with Organicide that I'm having with either Malathion or Beyers. Plus, I don't have that horrible smell.

    Croton scale - what's working

In the on-going battle to save my Crotons, it appears as though I may have the buggers on the run. Sad to say though that there haven't been casualties. Both of my edible fig trees have been cut back to the ground. I ate one and got sick from the Beyers 3 in 1 that I'm using on the nearby...
