    What to do about ants?

We have used this non toxic treatment for years, but we use boric acid and confectioners sugar instead of baking soda. Same principle and definately takes care of them.

    Croton ID Needed Please

Lamar, Good to see you today at the celebration of David's life. It was so nice and some of the stories great. This is a beautiful croton and represents David well. I would love to get one if you should have an extra air layer or cutting. Thanks, Marnie

    Tools of the Trade

Well I'm officially hooked on the poultry shears for air layering. I've gone a little crazy and there are small foil balls all over my garden. It's wonderful. Really makes it easy..............so fast. Marnie

    Tools of the Trade

Wow Tim, When I saw your post I thought those sheers looked familar and sure enough checked a kitchen drawer and found these very old poultry sheers that have been here for years. (Can't remember where I got them) Look pretty much the same to me so now I'm anxious to try an airlayer to see...

    My most promising seedling

Thanks for the information Mike. I'll be more cautious using the liquid fertilizer in the future. The seedling that I lost was looking very promising, Oh well, lesson learned. It was a young plant and since I use the canister attached to the hose to apply the liquid, I'm thinking it...

    My most promising seedling

Mike, I am wondering about your statement that you don't want to use liquid fertilizer and risk killing the plant. I didn't know that there was a danger there, but have actually lost two crotons ( a seedling and interuptum) soon after fertilizing with liquid fertilizer. Please tell me what...

One year of fertilizer, rain and sunshine

Mike your garden is beautiful. The before & after pictures are great and really show how much things have grown in the past year. Looking good. It should explode with this rainy season that's upon us now. Marnie

Golden Glow or Johanna Coppenger ???

Thanks for your pictures Tim. I think the general concensus is that we have a beautiful Johanna Coppenger. (I love them both so would be happy either way.) It's such a bright and lively plant. Thanks again, Marnie

    UNDER THE OLD OAK TREE

David, Your plants are all incredible, but Mr. Hitchcock is just wonderful. It does remind me of my tiger eye, but much more exotic. I love your old oak tree posts. Thank you for sharing your great photos with us. Marnie

    Arrowhead

Hi Ana, It gets dappled light for most of the day with full sun late morning for about 2 hours. It faces East, but we have so much canopy (palms & shady lady black olive trees) that there is very little window for full sun. Sorry I missed you yesterday. Hope you enjoyed the show. Marnie
