    Coppinger's coral shower

I found my Coral Shower #2 under lots of vining philodendrons so it's out of color but still alive. I guess I knew it was rare at one time because there's a red tag in it. Here are some pictures. Kurt, is it anything like Coppinger's? Preview attachment IMG_0233.JPG Preview...

    Coppinger's coral shower

Kurt, years ago I had a plant from John Bender that he called Coral Shower #2. I know you used to get plants from him as well. Do you know anything about that one? I'll have to go search to see if I still have it.

    Coppinger's coral shower

I just found this post on another thread. If there are two different plants named Coral Shower, it would be good to ID the pictures with the hybridizer. Is the Coral Shower that is in most collections the Mike Fascell plant?

Ana, I hope you can make it to the Ramble. It's Fri. - Sun. from 9:30 - 4:30 each day. In addition to plants there are many other goodies as well as good food from around the world. It's also the perfect time of year to wander around Fairchild. Re: Buttercup and Butterball - Karl mentioned...

    From my garden

Hi Ana, Gorgeous pictures. The Wood's Blue Goddess is exquisite! We're still cleaning up. After six weeks it's gotten to be a pain. The crotons love the new amount of sun but the aroids fried before we could get them cover. Hopefully there's enough life left in them to regrow. I can't wait...

Judy, I'll put a Sailor's Delight in the mist house for you. This time of year it takes about 2 months to root.

Named Crotons not in Wiki (Correct Names?)

I'll add what I know about Halloween. I think it's a Hawaiian cultivar - at least the first few plants in South Florida came from plants that we acquired in Hawaii. Ray Fernandez first saw it on the north coast of Oahu and he was responsible for naming it. When we went croton hunting on Oahu...

Named Crotons not in Wiki (Correct Names?)

I have a little information on a few that you listed: Luc's Green and Gold - the name was put on as a placeholder by Bob Pope when he was gathering crotons for Gardens by the Bay. He acquired it from the late Luc Vannorbeeck of Florida Colors Nursery. It's distinctive because of the boldness...

EBURNEUM (MADAGASCAR), TAMARA, LUCHA or OTHER?

I just looked in the wiki and I agree, it is confusing. Mike Harris's plant looks like Tamara to me and Lamar's and Ron's look like what I know as Eburneum. I hope someone else will weigh in on this confusion. Also I thought Andrew was a synonym for Tamara not Eburneum. I don't know about...

EBURNEUM (MADAGASCAR), TAMARA, LUCHA or OTHER?

Robertico, To me your plants look like Tamara. Eburneum has a shorter broader leaf without the point at the end and Lucha has green only as almost invisible streaks in the leaves but with the same leaf shape as Tamara. Needless to say, Lucha is a very slow grower.

In the wiki, the same photo from Phil's garden is used for Doctor Alexander and Czar Alexander III. Phil, which is correct? Thanks.

Jose won the ribbon for Best Croton in Show for a gorgeous Super Nova. I didn't have a camera but Jose, if you took a picture, please post it. The show is always fun and Lamar, Mike, Dede, Greg, Chip, Enid, Jesse D. and Chris all came to see and be seen. Jose, Marnie, Gerry,Bruce McAlpin...

I remembered the story on Randy's plant after I wrote the response above. John Criswick brought me 2 cuttings of John Criswick. one for me and one for Jesse Durko. I rooted them and took Jesse's to him along with a number of other nice crotons. A few month later Randy found some crotons at...

Ana, thanks for being a good gatekeeper and checking. I think they are all John Criswick - light makes a huge difference with this cultivar. I think Randy may have gotten his plant from me and mine came directly from John Criswick. I have Cotton Candy and it is slooooooow. Mine came from...
