    Blotched Cutler's Gulfstream

Mark, glad to hear you're on the mend and feeling better. Wow, I haven't been down Terry Lane in many years. I'm afraid the chances that those plants would still be there are pretty slim, but let me know if you find something before I do.

    Blotched Cutler's Gulfstream

Hey Keith, I got this plant from Marie Nock some time last year. I believe the sport is from her plant.

    Blotched Cutler's Gulfstream

It is nestled in some good company with Cutler #34, Monarch, and Princess Eugenia.

    Blotched Cutler's Gulfstream

The leaves can get quite large too. Even the underside of the leaves are colorful.

    Blotched Cutler's Gulfstream

This plant has been absolutely glowing lately. It is also nearly impossible to get good pics of. Not sure why, location or light, but these pics dont do the plant any justice. Vibrant pinks and oranges on blacks and dark greens. The contrasts are stunning. It gets lots of bright afternoon...

    Scarlet Fever

It is one of George's. If you look closely, you can see the sign at the bottom of the plant. The former operations manager of the Audubon House was all about signage. I remember seeing George's plant for the first time. I had to stop in my tracks it was so sweet. Once again Ana, lighting...

    Scarlet Fever

Current pics of Scarlet Fever at Audubon House. I really like watching this croton grow and develop its colors. There was one available at the last auction. Who got it?

    Shady Lane

Thanks Ana. It has been on the slow side for me. Since I'm really at the Audubon in the early morning hours, it's hard to give a real accurate description on the light. I know that it does not get any direct light in the morning now, but the sun is shifting now, so it is possible that it gets...

    Rain at Last

Y'all are lucky. I just read the report from yesterday. We only had .18 inches, and then it was incredibly windy to help dry it out:(

    Red? Quill?

Here are some pics of a very Orange (for the time being) Red Quill that I planted in a landscape a few months back. I've never seen a Red Quill exhibit so much orange.

    Jeff Chait Hybrids & Seedlings

Not the best pictures, but it will give an idea of the growth habit. This plant gets very little light, and could certainly use more. The earlier pics I posted are of Sailors Delight at my house, and it gets bright filtered light throughout most of the day. Big difference there.

    Davis Estate

I'm just thinking of how we can classify this plant. It is agreed upon that the origin of the name stems from the locale, but several other crotons seem to as well. Should it be named? Or should it simply be numbered, such as Davis Estate#1? Thoughts?

    Davis Estate

I picked up this beautiful croton from Marie Nock a while back. I had never heard of it before, and was curious of its potential. I'm pretty sure Mike has posted on this one in the past. This plant is in quite a bit of sun, has good sized leaves, and is coloring up nicely. It's got some nice...

    Potential Maybe Maybe NOT

The hardest decision is whether to toss something or not. I keep thinking, "Maybe it will be a killer croton". Space is too valuable, so I try to see what is really showing potential from early on. I've waited a long time to see some ugly crotons never do anything.
