    Moving from PalmTalk to PalmPedia

Moose, agreed, I will post here. Choice is a good thing. I actually am interested in contributing to the Wiki as well.

    Contributing to the Wiki

I went ahead and registered for the Wiki. The wiki markup is not an issue for me, I use it at Mozilla all the time. At work everything is Wiki based.

I would be interested in what the changes are that you want to see. My original frustration was with the poor handling of the whole PalmTalk issue, but this seems to be a symptom of a larger issue.

Even though PMs are back on PT, I am going to make an effort to contribute more to the Wiki here, this is a valuable resource.

Winter Outlook for Palm Growing in the US

Wait, Dean doesn't worry about freezes, but there's an equivalent: kona winds. That's when the humidity plummets and all those palms spoiled by the lovely constantly wet windward climate stress out. I'd take a kona wind spell any day over a nasty cold spell with freezes.

Oh Crap, you are here. :) Actually I was pretty bummed out when the PM feature got taken down because all your contact info is in my PM. I was hoping to come and visit again next time I am in the area. I've sent you a lot of PMs in the past and I always appreciate the advice. So Len, I'll...

Ha ha, sorry, didn't mean to offend you Dean, perhaps "snoop" was the wrong choice of words. You're welcome to read my PMs. Actually I heard this from many members, some wanting to contact me via E-mail because they were affraid you read the PMs. So I am just repeating what I heard. The...

    Contributing to the Wiki

Are there specific guidelines as to how to contribute to the Wiki? I would love to help to build out some of the sections on PalmPedia. Especially also in adding some cultivation information relevant to Northern California. I am really liking this platform compared to PalmTalk. Especially...

My PM on PalmTalk has been disabled. PalmPedia is now my new home. From this point onward I will be posting solely on PalmPedia.

Winter Outlook for Palm Growing in the US

Looks good so far for the West Coast, the Eastern Gulf shore and Florida. It's not looking so hot for Texas, though. Do you plan on protecting any palms that may be marginal for your climate this Winter? Not sure if image tags work. Will see:

I registered a while ago, but also never posted here before. PalmTalk doesn't have that much traffic from looking at the number of people logged in at any given point in time, I think most of the load PalmTalk gets is from robots and scrapers.

    Moving from PalmTalk to PalmPedia

This is my first post on PalmPedia. I don't know how many people from PalmTalk are already here, but since PMs are going away on PalmTalk, I see no point on staying on PalmTalk. PalmPedia is also moderated by Dean, so why not put all our energy into this forum instead? Can we have a roll call...
