Winter solstice

Today was the winter solstice. Being the shortest day of the year, to me it means the days are about to get longer and longer . Although it is also officially the start of winter, in some weird kind of way it makes me feel happy that we are headed toward spring and a time of new growth. The worst of the cold weather is yet to come, I know, but in my mind, somehow it seems to be a positive day for plants, and therefore, for me.

Anna, this is great news! Probably the best I will hear today. I agree, the worst of the cold weather is still yet to come, but at least I know the days are going to start to get longer. Wahooooo!

That's how I feel about it too, guys. It just improves my mood knowing the days will lengthen little by little now.
