Top plant gets around 2 hours of sun a day, dappled for the rest. The bottom one is in total shade.

No. Definitely not Golden Glow and both plants looked exactly the same until they went in the ground in different locations. Here's Golden Glow aka Stripes, note the red midvein in the first two pictures:

The last photo is of Reliance, the Johanna Coppinger Sport (pp. 95 of the book) also known as Willie. The plant in photo 2 is identical to my Golden Glow. That's just my 2 cents.

Ray - You're correct. I've been calling the Coppinger sport "Golden Glow" and/or "Stripes". I just checked Golden Glow in the book and it matches. So photos 1 and 2 are Golden Glow and 3 is Reliance.

We have got to build an online library of all the named varieties. I hope they can all fit on this server!

Just to show how confusing names can be. When Dr. Brown visted my yard once, he spotted a Reliance in fine color. He asked what it was. I said I did not know. he said a croton that nice needs a name. So I called it Willie (Willie was a 1kg Yorkshire Terrier I had at the time.) A few members pointed out a year or two later that the earlier name was Reliance.
Pic #1 is definitely Golden Glow; #2 could be Franklin Roosevelt which will do strange things depending on light conditions.
As Jeff pointed out, Tiger Eye has semin-oak leaf shape.

Phil - #1 and #2 came from the same piece of the original plant. They were the same color while in pots. #1 just gets a lot more sun than #2.

When these pictures are moved, a thread really loses its meaning because of the lack of reference. When people visit this forum, the lack of the pictures or missing photos does not reflect well on the Society in my opinion.

Ron - I have no choice. My space on my ISP's server is getting low. I've been moving the shots over to the on-line encyclopedia on a regular basis. This thread is 2 months old and the photos were moved just a few days ago.

Ricky - understood. Dean should make some provision that the photo could remain in both domains. A two month old thread is not old. Future and potential crotonheads visit this forum daily. If they can not see these gorgeous plants in this forum, the promotion of these plants could be lost.

Just my own personal opinion. I am a newbie here but I believe this is a valid concern.

I agree with Ron. There's got to be a way that maybe these pictures can remain with their topics.

To open a topic and then see that the pictures are removed and somewhere else, is pretty much enough to leave the topic. Just saying......

If there was some way the photos could be stored here instead of on the server I pay hosting for, that would solve the problem. I tried linking to the photo I uploaded to the online encyclopedia, but it comes back HUGE!

I pay my hosting service for 1gb of storage space and most of that is already filled with photos of our trips, barbecue, garden, and various other images and text that were already there when I joined this forum. Dean, any suggestions?
