Thoughts on Rafael & Claude Lorraine

Koki addressed these cultivars in the Christian's Croton Controversy thread. Rather than commenting and going off topic in Ray's thread, I will express my thoughts on these cultivars that put on displays of pastel pinks.

Rafael enjoys a shaded aspect. My croton has larger leaves than my Claude Lorraine with less pronounced lobes. It also exhibits deeper pastel pinks than Claude Lorraine

Here is what i am growing as Rafael. The last two photos are close ups of coloring up leaves revealing the pink pastel shading.

Claude Lorraine seems to prefer an even shadier situation not unlike a Polychrome. This plant is in some pretty heavy shade and just receives very little dappling of light. It has very light pink pastel hues on the older leaves.

On my plant, Claude Lorraine seems to have a lesser leaf size characteristic. The lobes on the leaves also appeasr to be more pronounced compared to Rafael.

To those who are fortunate to be growing these exceptional cultivars, I am curious if my observations are comparable to your experiences?

as it looks wonderful
