Super DD Does the Splits (Dypsis decipiens)

This palm was very colorful as a young plant, with almost a purple new leaf. I think some are calling these colorful types a "Super Decipiens." Mardy Darian's Super DD has at least 7 heads on it.

This one is splitting for the second time now to yield three heads. This is a very different type than my first one. As you can see, this one still has kind of a bluish/purple tinge to it, with a lot of color in the spear.

Cool! These are interesting how variable they are. Some of mine have a wider leaf and little color other than the very base of the new spear, and some have a thinner leaf with a lot more color. The less colorful, wider leaflet forms seem to grow faster and split less.
