Nice croton bed featuring Black Beauty. I didn't know what it was at the time.

Jeff, the plant in the middle is what Johnny was calling Rapture. There are a few growing (and surviving) here in my neighborhood. Per Johnny, it's mislabeled Dreer #7 in the book.

What a BLAST of color...another way of displaying CROTONS for public enjoyment. This is what I call CROTON SALADS...they look good enough to eat !

In my opinion, we do not need Bob Alonzo to solve this mystery. That is definitely not the same cultivar that Jeff has named Red Foot!

Croton salad is a great description of Ray's pictures. Brillant!

Ray,

As I stated in the other topic on Rapture, it's good to finally clear this up. And what a great find seeing Black Beauty growing down there in Mexico of all places.

Thanks to Ray's croton eye, we were able to identify this rarity. I had no clue what it was as a beginner - without Ray, this may have been another lost cultivar. this thread has some very nice crotons, thanks for posting the pictures Ray!
