Mr.White and Captian Kidd were welcomed into my garden today.

Nice plants however, the second photo is not Captain Kidd. I made the same mistake for a long time. The real Captain Kidd was auctioned off at a Croton Society meeting a few years back. It has a more rounded leaf with a distinguished orange midrib. Jeff S., how about a photo of the one you've got growing?
