Lord Belhaven - old standard?

Is Lord Belhaven an old standard? In the latter 1970's I think I recall that we sold this cutivar at the nursery I worked at. We called it "a croton". Was this the "standard cultivar" used to make so many of those croton hedges? I think my father planted a Lord Belhaven hedge.
