Interesting Croton found in Coral Gables

Found this interesting cultivar growing in front of a home in Coral Gables. The house appears to be built in late 1920's or early 1930's. Jeff's post of Pink Veitchii got me exited about this one. Could this be an uncommon old cultivar like Black Beauty? The longest leaves are over 20 inches long. This croton is growing in pretty deep shade. Don't have a clue what it is. All pictures are of the same plant.

Some more pictures of the same plant. The third photo here shows an aborant leaf and then reverts back to its original elongated shape with the new leaves. This was kind of odd to me even for a genetically unstable croton. There was multiple occurances of this leaf anomaly.

Moose - The Croton appears to be "Majesticum" and those aren't aberrant leaves, those are "bracts" and they usually form just before and where the plant will flower. Crotons are in the family Euphorbiaceae and that, as I recall, is a feature of the plants in that family.

Concur with Ricky on the ID; it's Majesticum, an older classic due to its very long leaves.

Ricky- thanks for the info on those 'funny leaves'. Always wondered if they had a better name.
