“One of the largest leaved crotons. Ground color is a deep green. The midribs and veins are margined rich butter colored yellow and entire leaf more or less dotted and marbled yellow. Strong grower.” REF: Brown, B. Frank 1995 Crotons of the Word p. 51…as quoted in the International Croton Society WIKI.

I’ll start this foto collection with 4 close-ups ( for Ana :) ) of our subject…GENERAL PAGET. I would classify this cultivar as one of the Costa Rican favorites, easily in the top 10.

Foto 5…This grouping is always in the shade of a building and between a couple of large trees receiving only reflected sunlight…probably explains why its leaves are greener than usual and a bit smaller than normal.

Fotos 6-7…these 2 curb-side pix show-off their immense and flamboyant leaves when compared to foto #5.

One of my favorite crotons, thanks for posting.Lamar picked up an interesting sport off an old specimen in Key West this week.

Beautiful, Robertico. Just goes to show, one of the most common crotons can be easily one of the most beautiful. It makes a real statement in the landscape, doesn't it? Thanks for posting your 'collection'. It will be difficult to select the best photos today or tomorrow when I enter them in the wiki. Still trying to catch up from a small trip I took. Thanks!
