COSTA RICAN CROTON WANDERINGS-THE MANY FACES OF GENERAL PAGET

“One of the largest leaved crotons. Ground color is a deep green. The midribs and veins are margined rich butter colored yellow and entire leaf more or less dotted and marbled yellow. I’ll start this foto collection with 4 close-ups ( for Ana ) of our subject…GENERAL PAGET. I would classify this cultivar as one of the Costa Rican favorites, easily in the top 10.

Foto 5…This grouping is always in the shade of a building and between a couple of large trees receiving only reflected sunlight…probably explains why its leaves are greener than usual and a bit smaller than normal.

Fotos 6-7…these 2 curb-side pix show-off their immense and flamboyant leaves when compared to foto #5.

Beautiful, Robertico. Just goes to show, one of the most common crotons can be easily one of the most beautiful. It makes a real statement in the landscape, doesn't it?
