Calytrocalyx is one of those genera that is embroiled in a lot of ambiguity. Many names of many different species and variations of species have been floating around for years - and there is still a lot of confusion. But there is no doubt that this genus is one of the prettiest and most colorful there is.

This is what I believe is a rare form of Calytrocalyx elegans. There is a form called "Mara" and another named "Sanumb" with entire and semi-entire leafs. But this form is finely pinnate and very attractive with its small clustering habit, often times with a new red leaf.

The first seeds in over ten years of growth are being offered on the Tropiscape Auction Site if you live in a warmer climate, or have a greenhouse. This would be an excellent candidate for pot culture or house plant.
