Fla. State Horticultural Society 1953 - New Hybrid Crotons

Marie - nice article. Almost hilarious in the author's attempts to quantify various aspects of a genetically unstable plant grown in a variety of conditions.

Anna and Bert, Thank you again for hosting today's meeting. Your yard is spectacular and reflects your knowledge, care, and attention. The new dog, Pete the Poodle, is a fine addition. Attached are some slightly out-of-focus pics starting with arrival of for sale plants and moving on up to...

    Polychrome

Polychrome is not an easy one to find; I doubt if all the Florida nurseries combined have 20 plants for sale.

    Wiki Update 2

Yes, I'm saying that Old Legend is Willie Rundee (based upon Bob's ID yesterday.) Old Legend sounded like a flakey name when I bought it, but more than a few crotons have odd or unusual names.

    Wiki Update 2

The plant in these pics was identified by Bob Alonzo as Willie Rundee. It was purchased a few years ago from a Searle Sale as Old Legend. So here's Willie Rundee!

    Some Wiki Updates

Anna - Any plants under Carmen Christian attributed to me and that look like these pics should be re-labeled as Cornelius (not to be confused with Cornelius Halgrim which has a large interrupted leaf form)

    Fall 2016 croton meeting/auction

Five plants per person for the auction should be adequate and NO drop offs by non-attendees.

    T/S Hermine

Anna- got back from Seattle (no crotons there but two very nice Japanese gardens) and noted no unusual leaf loss due to heavy rains or dry spell after; just the usual fall leaf drop.
