Beautiful. ...will have to remember this B&B if we go on vacation there....sounds like a great spot. I assume you swam there in the buff .... lol....I mean com'on .... can't go somewhere like this without some skinny dipping
Very nice...screams tropics to me.
The first cross was SxB correct?
Was the second cross (SxB) x S or was it S x (SxB)?
And was the same Syagrus used in the first and second crosses....the one above?
Hybrids are always fascinating
Trying to figure out how to post picture with caption....guess I got it wrong....so I will make 2 posts.
This "amate" is getting brown tipping inside...too much....or not enough....water?
Wow, looks very queen-like. So this is a (SxB) x S ?

Noted....what you said about the inland, North Island species having possibly more cold tolerance...
Where is the southernmost population of this species and do you think this population exhibits any more cold tolorance than populations further north? Has anyone ever collected seed from these individuals? I guess the same question could be asked regarding altitude and distance from the coast...

Alot of what you have shown will come back.....it'll look like crap for awhile though. Chinese get fried up here and pop back. All those phoenix will be ok. Lady palms...ok. All that 9a stuff will come back. Ti plants come back from the roots up here. Majesty will probably be ok too, same with...
Very cool that you have a viable seed producing butiagrus. About what percentage of the seed do you think is viable.....maybe these hybrids should not be called "Mules" anymore. Great pictures.
